Naturopathic Medicine - Addressing the causes of disease to achieve optimal wellness
Naturopathy is a whole system of medicine based on a guiding philosophy and principles of practice. One of the principles of naturopathic practice is Tolle Causam (Treat the Cause). In treating disease and optimising wellbeing naturopathic practitioners work with clients to identify contributing factors to illness and determine individualised treatment plans that will restore, promote and maintain health. These treatment plans incorporate dietary and lifestyle modifications and self-help guidelines, as well as the prescription of medicinal foods, herbal formulations, nutritional supplements, flower essences, homeopathic remedies or other appropriate natural therapies.
Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine - The study of Integrative Holistic Nutrition
The holistic philosophy and framework that underpins Endeavour’s Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine course will prepare students for a successful career in a dynamic and rewarding profession. Holistic nutritionists approach disease prevention and management through a multidimensional lens. Nutrient adequacy, food quality, dietary behaviours and lifestyle are assessed so that individualised Nutrition Care Plans can be developed. Scientific evidence, ethics and sound clinical reasoning guide practice to ensure that diet and supplement recommendations are efficacious and safe. Holistic nutritionists integrate traditional food wisdom and current evidence to motivate individuals and communities to eat well and live healthier lives.
Health Science Playground - Biosciences and social sciences
Health Science staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about your foundational core subjects. Stop by and view a presentation that addresses common First Year student concerns, chat to our Social Science team and try out our interactive Bioscience Playground.
Acupuncture - Follow Your Xīn (Heart): A Career in Acupuncture
The heart (xīn) in Chinese medicine is responsible for intelligence, wisdom and spiritual transformation. A career in Acupuncture allows development in these attributes offering personal rewards and flexible work opportunities through the interaction and treatment of others. Chinese medicine places an emphasis of treating holistically, taking into account a person’s physical, mental and spiritual states. Developed over 4000 years ago, classical philosophies are integrated into treatment and research of clinical conditions including, muscular-skeletal, women’s health, and internal medicine to name a few. Acupuncture is a life-long occupation in a registered medical profession that allows you to be successful while having a positive impact on people.
Complementary Medicine - New careers from traditional professions
The industry aspect of Complementary Medicine (CM) has grown exponentially over the last 5 years. For each practitioner role existing there are now four times as many roles in the supply chain, as well as management, policy, and research roles. Endeavour’s Bachelor of Complementary Medicine is a pioneering degree. Designed to develop a broad understanding of complementary medicine and the sociology of health care practices, the Bachelor of Complementary Medicine prepares students for roles within this growing supply chain and other non-practitioner areas. This presentation reviews the key features of the CM industry and the Bachelor of Complementary Medicine course, as well as provides a tour of Endeavour’s industry leading approach to online study.
Myotherapy - The Shoulder’s Connected to the Knee Bone
Did you know that our body is one giant interconnected web? For example, the pain in your shoulder could actually be coming from your lower back. Working on one area can have huge (and sometimes unintended) consequences for another area of the body entirely! We’ll demonstrate some of the unexpected ways that we respond to therapy techniques, and how that response can decrease pain and movement restriction. What happens to your flexibility after a simple foot treatment technique might surprise you! See the changes in your own body, and walk away with a couple of tricks to try at home. Learn how Myotherapists can use this understanding to make lasting, functional changes for their clients.

Inspiring, validating, uplifting and challenging. It has been excellent to follow my dream and have space to explore and learn so much about different aspects of health. Over the years my goal has shifted from being a practicing naturopath to working in research, to education (and my goals continue to evolve!) The course has always fostered my growing passions in various areas.

My study experience has been a GOOD challenge. From working full time to studying full time it has changed what I have considered myself capable of. Having not studied for several years, and never at a bachelor level, my study skills are still developing but as far as showing up on campus every day, I am grateful to be there and I love it.

Lucy Banks
Rose Pinter

I have been lucky to share my studies with a small cohort of classmates, all with very different ages, life experiences and goals. This has allowed the development of strong learning relationships not only amongst us, but also with our tutors and lecturers. This has been an invaluable experience allowing each of us the ability to have in depth discussions and pursue our interests at our own level and pace.

Dane Heuston

The lecturers are passionate about Natural Health and about sharing their knowledge, which is really encouraging and motivating. The intimate size of the campus is great and the staff and Student Services have been incredibly welcoming and helpful; no request is a bother.
